Ohio State Football, Carmen Ohio Tradition

The panoramic photo was taken following the Buckeyes victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and captures the tradition of Ohio State football players locking arms and standing together with the cheerleaders and football staff to sing “Carmen Ohio” to fans. This decades old song unites all Buckeyes, past and present. Affectionately known as the “Shoe”, Ohio Stadium is one of the most recognizable landmarks in all of sports. Since the opening game on October 7, 1922, more than 36 million fans have streamed through the stadium’s gates. With a seating capacity of 102,780, Ohio Stadium is one of the largest stadiums in the world, the fourth largest on-campus facility in the nation and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
