The panoramic photo captures the Ohio State University Marching Band creating the iconic “Ohio Script” prior to the Buckeyes’ season opener at Ohio Stadium. The band is famous for “dotting the I” in the Ohio script, a prestigious tradition reserved for upperclassmen sousaphone players. Ohio Stadium, or “the Shoe” is one of the most recognizable landmarks in all of sports. Since their opening game on October 7, 1922, more than 36 million fans have streamed through the stadium’s gates. With a seating capacity of 102,780, Ohio Stadium is one of the largest stadiums in the world, the fourth largest on-campus facility in the nation and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
